چکیده

Abstract The use of materials natural origin for the adsorption heavy metal ions from aqueous solutions has gained attention in recent years among scientific community. This is explained by fact that nickel compounds, due to severe health consequences, are considered be most dangerous environment. article reviews results studies on biosorbents purification ions, and then attempts classify them according their origin. characteristics sorption capacity have been compared, removal mechanisms identified which chemisorption ion exchange common. From analyses, a major trend biomass; however, other groups also continue attract interest researchers. Conducting laboratory can help select with high efficiency. highest values each group were: waste products 56 mg Ni·g −1 (olive stone), peat 61 , miscellaneous 225 (microbial flocculant GA1), biomass 286 ( Plantanus orientalis bark) composites/modified calcinated eggshells 769 (calcinated eggshells). However, some phenomenon may accompanied precipitation presence hydroxides, significantly affects achieved. There need transfer these experiments an industrial scale so as verify applicability. In such applications, should paid not only effectiveness material, but its availability, price, ease use, well effect biosorbent terms changing quality parameters aquatic

Removal of Cadmium Ions by Sorption from Aqueous Solutions Using Low-cost Materials

The efficiency of four low-cost sorbent materials namely peas husk, broad bean husk, medlar peel and fig leaves, for removing cadmium ions from aqueous solutions, in single systems, has been investigated in batch mode. Kinetic data and equilibrium sorption isotherms were measured. Kinetics of cadmium sorption was contact time, initial cadmium concentration and sorbent type dependent. For a give...

BP-ANN Approach for Modeling Cd(II) Bio-Sorption from Aqueous Solutions Using Cajanus cajan Husk

This work aims at the modeling of bio-sorption of cadmium(II) onto physically and chemically activated Cajanus cajan (Pigeon pea) husks. Experimental data obtained were fitted to a number of isotherm and kinetic models, and the results interpreted. The monolayer Cd(II) bio-sorption capacities of the husk were found to considerably increase by 2.82 times due to chemical activation, for bio-s...

Magnetic Nanocomposites as Efficient Sorption Materials for Removing Dyes from Aqueous Solutions.

Magnetic composite sorbents based on saponite clays with different content of magnetite (2-7 wt%.) were synthesized. The samples were analyzed by X-ray diffraction methods, and it was found that the Fe3O4 in composites is in the nanorange. It has been shown that the magnetic nanocomposites have more developed microporosity and mesoporosity compared to saponite clay. The sorption properties of m...

Sorption of Trace Constituents from Aqueous Solutions onto Secondary Minerals

-Well-characterized American Petroleum Institute clay standards, source clays from The Clay Minerals Society, and other secondary minerals were used to determine the effects of U concentration, temperature, and solution composition on U-sorption properties. Uranium concentrations ranged from about 1.00 x 10 -4 M to 4.00 x 10 7 M, temperatures from 5 ~ to 65~ and solution compositions containing...

Sorption of Heavy Metal Ions from Aqueous Solutions: A Review

Sorption techniques are widely used to remove heavy metal ions from large volumes of aqueous solutions. Herein, the natural and some artificial materials, such as clay minerals, biosorbents, carbon-nanomaterials, metal oxides, are reviewed as adsorbents in the removal of different heavy metal ions, such as Ni(II), Cu(II), Pb(II), Cd(II), Cs(I), Eu(III), Th(IV), Cr(VI) from large volumes of aque...
